The symposium titled "The World of a Thinking Writer", organized by Zeytinburnu Municipality to commemorate Peyami Safa, one of the prominent writers of Turkish literature, is taking place at the Zeytinburnu Culture and Arts center. The author's literary heritage and intellectual world are being examined through various sessions in the two-day event.

Bearing the distinction of being the 20th symposium held at Zeytinburnu Culture and Arts, the event covers a wide range from Peyami Safa's novel-writing to his philosophical approach, and from his political thoughts to his understanding of culture and art. Expert academics and researchers in the field evaluate the author's works from different perspectives across six sessions spanning two days.

While the symposium program began with an opening program on Friday, October 23, the first sessions examine the author's novel-writing, Bir Tereddüdün Romanı (The Novel of a Hesitation), and his conception of humanity. In the sessions on Saturday, October 24, the political atmosphere of the period, the works written under the pseudonym Server Bedi, and the culture-art understanding are discussed, and the event concludes with a closing speech by Prof. Dr. Seval Şahin. Meanwhile, the sessions are broadcast live on YouTube for those who cannot follow the event in person.
