Galatasaray Head Coach Okan Buruk stated in his post-match remarks after defeating Gençlerbirliği 1-0 in the 8th week of the Süper Lig that they lost a player due to the poor pitch conditions and emphasized that the Football Federation must inspect the pitches.

Galatasaray defeated Gençlerbirliği 1-0 away with a goal found in the final minutes during the 8th week of the Trendyol Süper Lig. Following the match, the yellow-red team's head coach Okan Buruk made sharp criticisms regarding the pitch conditions and explained the reason for Rafael Leao being substituted.

In his post-match evaluation, Okan Buruk stated that they needed to concentrate well without using the pitch, match traffic, or the Champions League as excuses. Stating that they started the first 10-15 minutes well but gave away too many chances towards the end of the first half and the beginning of the second, Buruk voiced that it was difficult to judge the players due to the pitch conditions.

Drawing attention to the fact that pitch conditions threaten player health, Buruk said, "There is a very bad pitch and ground. The TFF needs to inspect these pitches. Today we lost a player because of the pitch. We shouldn't use the pitch as an excuse regarding the game, but we can say this in terms of player health. We are happy to have won, but we need to do better in terms of play and concentration."
