Post-election in Serbia: Student List supporters clear out camp in Belgrade
Following its victory in Serbia's parliamentary elections, the Student List movement dismantled and evacuated the 'Ćaciland' camp in Belgrade, which had been set up for 18 years and associated with pro-government activities.
Following the victory of the Student List movement in Serbia's parliamentary elections and the concession of defeat by Aleksandar Vučić and the Serbian Progressive Party (SNS), the 'Ćaciland' camp located in Belgrade's Pioneers Park was dismantled.
Following the announcement of the election results, hundreds of volunteers and municipal workers cleared the playground by removing the tents from the camp area, which had occupied the park for 18 years and was associated with allegations of violence and intimidation. Operating without a traditional hierarchy or a single leader, the Student List movement won the election on an anti-corruption platform.
Ilija Srdanović, a cardiologist and one of the movement's prominent figures, emphasized the group's democratic structure and stance against the 'cult of personality' mindset. Supporters participating in the clean-up efforts following the election victory described the situation as the 'smell of freedom.' Concrete plans by the movement regarding foreign policy and regional issues have not yet been clarified.
