Record Funding of 34 Million TL for Amateur Sports from Bursa Metropolitan Municipality

At a ceremony organized by the Bursa Metropolitan Municipality, it was announced that a record-breaking resource of 34,117,500 TL has been allocated to Bursa sports, with cash assistance provided to 689 clubs.

Details of the Ceremony and Participants

Led by the Bursa Metropolitan Municipality, the Support for Amateur Sports Clubs and Rewarding Successful Athletes Ceremony was held at the Merinos Atatürk Congress and Culture Center.

The program was attended by Bursa Deputy Governor Kadir Sertel Otcu, Provincial Director of Youth and Sports Rahmi Aksoy, and Bursa Amateur Sports Clubs President Çetin Yıldız.

Support Provided to Clubs and Athletes

Bursa Metropolitan Municipality Deputy Mayor Şahin Biba announced that a record-breaking total of 34,117,500 TL in funding has been allocated to Bursa sports.

Within this scope, it was decided to transfer 31,820,000 TL in direct cash assistance to 689 amateur sports clubs.

Rewarding Successful Names

Successful figures who achieved top rankings in the 2024 Paralympic Games and the 2025-2026 European and World Championships were not forgotten.

A total of 2,297,500 TL in support was provided to 73 athletes and coaches who achieved international rankings.

Future Goals and Conclusion

Deputy Mayor Şahin Biba conveyed to the participants that they aim to introduce 50,000 children to sports within the year 2027.

The program ended with the presentation of plaques to the successful athletes and coaches, followed by the taking of a commemorative photograph.
