r/opensource just banned AI, non-English speakers, and more

The r/opensource community on Reddit has enacted controversial new posting rules targeting AI projects, solo new developments, and members unable to use the English language. Amid rising criticisms following the decision that sparked major backlash within the community, an alternative subreddit has also been established.

Furthermore, non-English speaking members within the community were affected by the new regulations. Arguing that they cannot distinguish between content written with AI and texts translated with AI, moderators stated that non-English speaking members should find a different community.
