RENCO System Developed by Engin Yeşil in the USA Makes Time's List
RENCO, a composite construction system implemented in the USA by Engin Yeşil, head of the bankrupt Yeşil İnşaat in Turkey, has entered Time magazine's list of best inventions.
The RENCO building system, developed in the US by Engin Yeşil—head of the bankrupt Yeşil Real Estate Investment Trust and Yeşil İnşaat in Turkey—has been included in Time magazine's list of "300 innovations with the potential to change lives." Aiming to lower housing costs and construction times, the system has also drawn attention with international awards.
Produced from fiberglass, resin, and natural minerals, RENCO building elements are assembled using special adhesives reminiscent of Lego pieces. Emerging after a development process of roughly 15 years, the system offers resistance against earthquakes, hurricanes, fires, water, and mold. In a 96-apartment housing project in the Palm Springs area of Florida, the load-bearing structural system of four three-story buildings was completed in eight weeks by a team of 11 people.
