Republic Day Sports Events Began in Burhaniye, Balıkesir

Sporting events organized by the Burhaniye District Directorate of Youth and Sports as part of the 103rd-anniversary celebrations of October 29 Republic Day in the Burhaniye district of Balıkesir began with the Republic Cup Table Tennis Tournament. During the week-long organization, young athletes will compete in table tennis, basketball, athletics, and volleyball branches.

According to the activity schedule to be carried out in different branches by the Burhaniye District Directorate of Youth and Sports for a week, the table tennis tournament was held on October 20. Within the scope of the competitions, a 3x3 Basketball Tournament will be held on October 21, and athletics races in the girls' and boys' 400-meter categories will be organized on October 22. The Republic Day Youth Volleyball Tournament will take place on October 23, 26, and 27. Following the one-week competition process, an award ceremony will be held on October 27 with the participation of the district protocol, and awards will be presented to the athletes who rank in the competitions.

Burhaniye District Director of Youth and Sports Aslan Alparslan pointed out the importance of the organizations held within the framework of Republic Day events and noted that they aim to increase the participation of young people in sports. Alparslan expressed their happiness in celebrating the 103rd anniversary of the Republic with the unifying power of sports, wished success to all athletes, and invited citizens to the competitions.
