As a result of friendly initiatives carried out by the Ombudsman Institution, a technician in an Istanbul hospital who was assigned to a different unit without written notification has returned to their former position.
A home care technician who was assigned to a unit outside of their area of expertise without written notification at an Istanbul hospital was returned to their original position through the intervention of the Ombudsman Institution (KDK).
Assignment Outside Area of Expertise
A healthcare worker employed as a home care technician at a hospital in Istanbul was assigned to the infant intensive care milk room via a drawing method without any written and official notification being served. Stating that this procedure was carried out verbally, the technician expressed that the situation was contrary to administrative customs.
Application to the Ombudsman Institution
The applicant healthcare worker argued that the drawing procedure was completely contrary to the position's job description, the principle of equality, and internal working peace. The employee requested the cancellation of the transaction in question and to return to their original duty station.
Friendly Resolution and Reinstatement
Examining the issue and stepping in, the Ombudsman Institution contacted hospital authorities and assumed a mediation role between the parties. As a result of the initiatives carried out by KDK, the hospital management took a step back.
The healthcare worker was reinstated to their former position in line with their request and started working, and this development was officially reported to KDK.
