Reuters/Ipsos Poll: Trump's Approval Rating Falls to 31 Percent
An October 2026 Reuters/Ipsos poll reveals that U.S. President Donald Trump's approval rating has dropped to a record low of 31 percent.
According to the results of a Reuters/Ipsos poll that concluded on October 19, 2026, U.S. President Donald Trump's job approval rating has fallen by one percentage point compared to two weeks ago, reaching 31 percent. This figure represents the lowest level during both of his presidential terms.
The research highlights concerns among American voters regarding high gasoline prices and negative attitudes toward the Republican Party ahead of the upcoming November 3 congressional elections. While 68 percent of participants disapprove of Trump's handling of the economy, it is noted that the rise in gasoline prices, triggered by the Iranian military operations in February, has negatively impacted his popularity.
In questions measuring voter trends, Democrats received 47 percent support, while Republicans remained at 35 percent. This 12-point gap constitutes the widest margin in the current election cycle. In particular, the fact that 50 percent of female voters support the Democrats, while 32 percent support the Republicans, played a significant role in the decline of support. A total of 1,679 U.S. adults, including 1,279 registered voters, participated in the online poll.
