Saudi authorities announced on Tuesday that a total of five ballistic missiles fired by Iran-backed Houthis at the capital Riyadh and the country's eastern region were destroyed by air defense systems.
Saudi authorities announced that two ballistic missiles launched by Houthis over the capital Riyadh on Tuesday were intercepted and destroyed by air defense. It was stated that three other ballistic missiles launched towards the country's eastern region were also destroyed.
Saudi Civil Defense officials reported that falling shrapnel from the missiles caused damage to a building, a construction site, and a vehicle in Riyadh. Attack alerts were issued for the cities of Riyadh, Jeddah, and Yanbu, which were later lifted without any major casualties being reported.
Houthi military spokesman Brigadier General Yahya Saree claimed that the Saudi defense ministry headquarters was directly hit; however, this claim could not be verified.
