Science and Technology Initiative for Agricultural Growth in the Northern Region
The Ministry of Agriculture and Environment, along with the Ministry of Public Security, organized a new strategic conference focusing on science, technology, and digital transformation to enhance agricultural productivity in the Northern region.
On October 27, the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment and the Ministry of Public Security held a conference titled "Science, Technology, Innovation, and Digital Transformation to Support Agricultural Growth in the Northern Region" to modernize agricultural production in the Northern region.
Co-chaired by Deputy Prime Minister Ho Quoc Dung, Minister of Agriculture and Environment Trinh Viet Hung, and Deputy Minister of Public Security Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Long, the meeting discussed targets for the 2026-2030 period. Minister Trinh Viet Hung emphasized that the agricultural sector must transition from an extensive growth model to an intensive growth model.
It was noted at the meeting that 1,373 science and technology projects were implemented between 2021 and 2025, and the new period aims to increase the contribution of total factor productivity to economic growth to over 55% and establish at least 5 innovation centers in the region.
