In the first nine months of 2026, the added value generated by science, technology and digital transformation activities in Hanoi reached approximately 295,900 billion VND, accounting for 22.85% of the gross domestic product.

The added value of science, technology and digital transformation in Hanoi reached approximately 295,900 billion VND in the first nine months of 2026.

This rate is equivalent to 22.85 percent of the city's gross regional domestic product, highlighting its share in economic growth.

Development of the Digital Economy

The digital economy accounts for 16.7 percent of Hanoi's gross domestic product and showed a 13.25 percent increase on an annual basis.

The digital economy in traditional sectors recorded a growth rate of 17.71 percent.

Sectoral Growth Rates

The added value derived from the digital economy in the healthcare sector increased by 37.36 percent.

In the education and training sector, this rate was recorded at 32.86 percent.

Budget and Resource Allocation

In 2026, Hanoi allocated more than 9,090 billion VND for science and technology, innovation and digital transformation.

While this amount corresponds to 4 percent of the city's total budget expenditure, the fund disbursement rate stood at 40.33 percent.
