Kansas City Royals General Manager J.J. Picollo stated that their priority in post-season planning is to add depth to the bullpen and starting rotation.
Picollo emphasized that the bullpen area is the most important area that needs development, while stating that they also plan to make reinforcements to the starting rotation. While 2026 All-Star players Michael Wacha, Seth Lugo, and Noah Cameron's places in the rotation are preserved, it was announced that names such as Daniel Lynch IV, Randy Dobnak, and Tony Gonsolin, who has a $2.5 million club option, will compete for the rest of the rotation.
The club also announced that Legends Global has been selected as the owner's representative for the new stadium project planned to be built in downtown Kansas City.
