Şekerbank secures $170 million for rural development and green transition
Şekerbank has secured $170 million in international funding to finance SMEs, micro-enterprises, women entrepreneurs, and green transition projects in rural areas.
As Turkey prepares for the COP31 Climate Summit, Şekerbank has secured a new international financing package of $170 million to support rural development and sustainable investments.
The provided funding will be used to facilitate access to finance for SMEs and micro-enterprises operating in rural regions, as well as to support women entrepreneurs, sustainable agricultural practices, and finance green transition investments.
Şekerbank General Manager Aybala Şimşek Galpin stated that they will accelerate their activities in line with inclusive finance and climate targets through this funding. Frouke Hoekstra, FMO Financial Institutions Director, expressed that the broad participation of international institutions demonstrates confidence in the bank's capacity to create impact.
