Şenol Güneş Comments on Trabzonspor-Beşiktaş Match and National Team
Coach Şenol Güneş evaluated the match between Trabzonspor and Beşiktaş ahead of time and argued that the A National Team should have a Turkish coach.
Attending an event organized by the Trabzon Metropolitan Municipality, experienced coach Şenol Güneş evaluated the Trendyol Süper Lig match between Trabzonspor and Beşiktaş and responded to the debate regarding foreign coaches in the A National Team.
Ahead of the Trendyol Süper Lig match between Trabzonspor and Beşiktaş, Şenol Güneş—who has managed both teams—made evaluations at an event organized by the Trabzon Metropolitan Municipality. Stating that he looks at the match impartially, Güneş expressed that Trabzonspor has an advantage because they are playing at home and noted that he expects a good match.
Responding to a question regarding the presence of a foreign coach at the head of the A National Team, Güneş stated that both the player and the coach should be Turkish in terms of emotion. Pointing out that the number of foreign coaches has increased alongside the rising number of foreign players in Turkey, Güneş emphasized that young Turkish coaches are capable of handling this role, stating that while he is not against foreign coaches, Turkish coaches should take charge in the national team.
