The Ministry of Health has prepared a new draft circular outlining the framework of 12-month practical training programs for doctors in the fields of medicine, preventive medicine, traditional medicine, and dentistry, and has begun receiving feedback.

Scope of Practical Training

According to the draft regulation, a total 12-month practical training period is envisaged across all four fields. This process is planned to include a 3-month resuscitation practice and a 9-month specialized practice within the field of expertise.

Main Purpose of the Training

The primary objective of the program is to improve doctors' abilities in examination, evaluation, and initial intervention in common emergency situations. It also aims to ensure the safe execution of special medical procedures.

Distribution by Specialization Areas

For medical doctors, the program covers internal medicine, surgery, pediatrics, and obstetrics and gynecology. While preventive physicians apply their own techniques, traditional medicine practitioners perform diagnoses and treatments according to traditional pharmacy specializations.

Requirements for Healthcare Facilities

The facility providing primary application guidance is required to be a licensed hospital with a specialty area covering at least eighty percent of the relevant technical procedures. If this cannot be fully met, cooperation with other hospitals will be possible.

Ethics and Communication Content

In addition to professional knowledge and skills, the program offers comprehensive content on medical examination and treatment laws, professional ethics, patient safety, and communication topics.
