S&P Global Ratings came together with representatives of financial institutions at the Turkey Capital Markets Conference 2026 event, where the outlook for the Turkish economy and capital markets was discussed. Sharing her evaluations at the event, Regina Argenio announced that the study covering all banking sectors under the Banking Industry Country Risk Assessment has been newly approved.

Argenio stated that the Turkish banking system has faced various global and regional shocks, but the progress made in lowering inflation and a more positive economic picture than estimated at the start of the war in the Middle East have made the current situation manageable. It was noted that alongside a potential easing in monetary policy and interest rate cuts, improvements could be seen in credit volume and net interest margins in the upcoming period, and the policy response to fund investigations has been quite strong.
