Statement from the Capital Markets Board Regarding Foreign Financial Institutions
The Capital Markets Board denied untrue claims regarding the activities and positions of foreign financial institutions.
The Capital Markets Board (CMB) officially denied claims circulating recently in certain media outlets and social media channels regarding the activities and investment positions of foreign financial institutions in Turkey's capital markets, stating that they do not reflect the truth.
In a written statement issued by the Board, it was determined that claims suggesting foreign financial institutions obtained exorbitant profits, exited the market after high profits, completely closed their existing positions, and entirely disposed of assets in their portfolios do not reflect the truth. Furthermore, it was stated that regulatory processes are carried out within the framework of transparency and predictability principles by taking stakeholder opinions, and that draft and final regulations are shared with domestic and foreign investors simultaneously.
