Samsunspor issued a written statement regarding the referee decisions in the 9th week match of the Süper Lig and Afonso Sousa receiving a red card, calling on the Turkish Football Federation to take action.

Samsunspor club shared a written statement reacting to the referee decisions experienced in the 9th week match of the Süper Lig. In the statement, it was expressed that Afonso Sousa being sent off with a second yellow card in the 37th minute of the match directly affected the course of the game. It was also stated that a red card was given by the referee in response to the question posed by Head Coach Nenad Bjelica at the end of the match. The club called on the TFF and relevant boards to conduct an examination in order to re-establish the sense of justice in Turkish football.
