Within the scope of the Health Surveillance Program launched by the Tax Inspection Board (VDK) in 2026, the tax risks of 45 private hospitals and 820 physicians in major cities were examined, resulting in a total tax base adjustment of 32.7 billion liras.
The Tax Inspection Board (VDK) implemented a specially designed Health Surveillance Program covering the months of April and May 2026. A risk analysis was conducted on 45 private hospitals operating in major cities, notably Istanbul, Ankara, Izmir, Bursa, and Antalya, as well as 820 physicians and their affiliated companies associated with these institutions.
At the end of the process, the 820 physicians under review ceased invoicing hospitals through their companies as of June 1, converting their working models to insured employee status. A three-month impact analysis conducted following the program determined that a total tax base adjustment of 32.7 billion liras took place.
