Turkey is transitioning to domestic ultrasound device production within the framework of the 'Producing Health' vision initiated to reduce foreign dependency in health technologies. A technology transfer agreement was reached with South Korea's Samsung Medison for the project, which is coordinated by the Ministry of Health and the Presidency of the Health Institutes of Turkey (TÜSEB).

Domestic companies Promedis and Vamet were also included in the project. In the production facility to be established, it is aimed to produce basic components of the devices such as monitors, probes, software, and hardware with domestic resources. Within the scope of the project, it is planned to reach a domestic production rate of at least 71 percent.

While an initial target is set to produce 700 ultrasound devices and 2,500 probes annually, it was stated that efforts for the domestic production of 41 strategic medical devices across Turkey are also ongoing.
