The 103rd Anniversary of the Republic is Celebrated in Istanbul with Free Events

Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) is preparing to celebrate the 103rd anniversary of October 29 Republic Day with completely free events such as concerts, theater plays, exhibitions, and workshops spread across all corners of the city. Istanbul residents will experience the holiday enthusiasm through celebrations taking place at many points, most notably Yenikapı Event Area, Bağcılar Square, and Şişli Habitat Square.

Within the framework of the program prepared by Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality affiliates, cultural and arts events for children, free museum visit opportunities, discount campaigns, and holiday decorations on public transportation vehicles are included. On Thursday, October 29, 2026, Miniatürk and Panorama 1453 History Museum will serve Turkish citizen visitors free of charge. In addition, a 25 percent discount will be applied to children's books at the Miniatürk branch of Istanbul Bookstore, and a 25 percent discount campaign on selected publications will be valid between October 28 and 30.

The celebrations at Yenikapı Event Area will start at 18:00 with the performance of Arem & Arman and continue with the Simge concert. The program will continue with a video screening and the IMM Youth Folk Dance Ensemble performance, followed by a moment of silence, the National Anthem, and a fireworks display, while Mert Demir will take the stage in the finale. Events at Bağcılar Square will start at 15:00 with children's activities and continue with the Emre Aydın concert. At Şişli Habitat Square, Hüsnü Arkan will meet with Istanbul residents following the ceremonies at 19:30.
