Opening its doors in Hanoi on October 28 under the theme "Sustainable Livestock Production," the 21st Asian-Australasian Association of Animal Production Societies Congress (AAAP 2026) brought together approximately 1,400 registered participants and 600 international delegates from 45 countries and regions. Aiming for the technological transformation of the livestock sector, which accounts for 27% of agricultural GDP, the event features more than 1,111 scientific papers being presented.

Organized by the Vietnam Livestock Association and held in the country again after an 18-year hiatus, the conference brings together experts, managers, and businesses from the fields of veterinary medicine, environment, and food processing. Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Environment Nguyen Hoang Hiep stated that the application of science and technology, biological safety, and animal welfare are of vital importance in the face of challenges such as climate change and market competition.

Dr. Nguyen Xuan Duong, President of the Vietnam Livestock Association and Chairman of AAAP 2026, highlighted the regional prestige of the organization. Featuring 14 thematic groups focusing on genetics, nutrition, digital management, and smart agriculture, the event includes major enterprises such as TH Group, De Heus Vietnam, CP Vietnam, GREENFEED Vietnam, and Dabaco Group Vietnam. At the conclusion of the conference, it is aimed to formulate the "Hanoi Message on Sustainable Livestock Production."
