The 90th ASEAN Science and Technology Conference Begins in Vietnam
Gathered in Da Nang, the COSTI-90 conference addresses the implementation of the science, technology, and innovation cooperation plan for the 2026-2035 period in the ASEAN region.
Hosted by Vietnam in Da Nang, the 90th Meeting of the ASEAN Committee on Science, Technology, and Innovation aims to strengthen the research capacities of countries in the region and bring the new action plan to life.
Location and Date of the Conference
Organized by the Vietnamese Ministry of Science and Technology at the Furama Resort Da Nang in the city of Da Nang, the COSTI-90 meeting is taking place from October 13-15. This important gathering brings together scientists and officials from across the region.
Participant Profile and Expectations
Approximately 250 delegates, consisting of experts and scientists from ASEAN member countries' science, technology, and innovation agencies, the ASEAN Secretariat, partners, Vietnam, and abroad, are expected to attend the conference.
Implementation of the Cooperation Plan
The meeting focuses on the implementation of the ASEAN Plan of Action on Science, Technology, and Innovation for the 2026-2035 period. Through this, member states find the opportunity to operationalize their cooperation priorities.
Changes in Sub-Committee Structure
The program consists of seven official meetings, including sessions of five specialized sub-committees, the 21st meeting of the COSTI Advisory Body, and the COSTI-90 plenary session. These sessions hold the distinction of being the first meetings held following structural adjustments.
