Dialogue in the series 'Haysiyet' brings authors who both worked and wrote to the agenda
The dialogue about a writer and porter in the teaser for Kanal D's new series 'Haysiyet' recalled famous authors in Turkish and world literature who produced works while working demanding jobs.
A dialogue featured in the trailer for the series 'Haysiyet', set to begin broadcasting on Kanal D in September, brought famous names who both worked and wrote in the literary world back to the agenda. The production team stated that the similarity in the dialogue in question was a coincidence.
The cast of the series, which focuses on the conflict between two families belonging to different classes and an impossible love born during this process, includes Kerem Alışık, Doğukan Güngör, Reha Özcan, Merih Öztürk, Burak Çelik, Ayça Varlıer, and Nergis Öztürk. In the promotional film, the dialogue "Both writing and porter work?" between the character Mehmet Karlıova, portrayed by Doğukan Güngör, and Haluk Tarman, played by Reha Özcan, drew attention.
This scene brought to mind authors in literary history who both worked in demanding industries and left behind enduring works. Alongside Orhan Kemal and Yaşar Kemal from Turkish literature, Fethi Savaşçı, who worked as a blacksmith and laborer, and mining worker Mehmet Yılmaz Karaibrahimoğlu stood out among these names. In world literature, the difficult working lives of authors such as Jack London, Charles Bukowski, and John Steinbeck in the past were recalled.
