The 'You Will Draw a Home' Exhibition Brings Animal Stories to Art Lovers

The 'You Will Draw a Home' exhibition, which focuses on the lives and the search for a home of stray and shelter animals, is opening to visitors at the Tokatlıyan Han in Beyoğlu with works by 72 cartoonists. The exhibition, which aims to convey the bond between humans and animals and the culture of living together through drawings, held its opening on October 23, 2026.

Aiming to give a voice to animals struggling for survival on the streets and in shelters, the exhibition addresses the concept of a home from the perspective of the animals. The promotional texts emphasize that the cartoonists focus on the changing stories of animals living in shelters or temporary spaces, portraying them not merely as objects to be adopted, but as independent individuals with names, characters, pasts, fears, curiosities, and joys.

The event, co-organized by the Beyoğlu City Council Animal Rights Working Group, the Kadıköy Stray Animals Forum, and the Participatory Art Community Turkey, can be visited at the Tokatlıyan Han in Beyoğlu until October 25, 2026. The opening program also featured a violin recital by Kardelen Pınar and a musical performance by the Kamucan Yalçın Trio.
