Sinop University brought children together with science and technology by organizing a "Science Village" event in the central village of Kabalı within the scope of the TUBITAK 4009 Village Schools Program.

Within the framework of the TUBITAK 4009 Village Schools Program spearheaded by Sinop University, a "Science Village" event was established in the garden of the Village Life Center in the central village of Kabalı. In the workshops set up at the event area, students experienced hands-on activities such as robotic coding, the transition from soil to technology, and building solar-powered cars. Students also made scientific observations by taking a nature walk under the guidance of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Evrim Sönmez.

Project coordinator Dr. Faculty Member Ayşin Gaye Üstün stated that the project created awareness of science and technology in children. While coding and 3D printer activities were carried out on the first day of the event, game development department students shared the games they prepared with the children on the second day, and electricity department students designed model vehicles with solar energy panels. Additionally, academics came together with citizens at the village coffeehouse to hold a talk on energy efficiency.
