TÜSEB İDEA Contributes to the Development of Domestic Health Technologies
The TÜSEB İDEA center offers infrastructure for preclinical testing of domestic health technologies and robotic surgery training.
Operating under the Presidency of the Health Institutes of Turkey (TÜSEB), the İDEA center aims to reduce foreign dependency by offering a comprehensive infrastructure for the development of domestic health technologies, preclinical testing, and robotic surgery training.
Established with the goal of a Turkey that produces technology in the field of health, TÜSEB İDEA brings together research, skills development, training, and testing processes. While the center contributes to transforming projects in the idea stage into products, it performs prototype trials, biocompatibility evaluations, toxicity, and physical tests in accordance with OECD Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) standards. Also used in the development of vaccines and serums such as TURCOVAC and medical devices like the domestic heart-lung machine, the center houses a robotic surgery unit and experimental research laboratories.
TÜSEB İDEA Center Manager Batuhan Yeşilyurt stated that the center offers an ecosystem where knowledge turns into products for the domestic health industry, and that researchers can submit their projects via the 'uretensağlık.gov.tr' portal through the 9-level technology readiness scale. İDEA Education Coordinator Prof. Dr. Ersin Kadiroğulları announced that approximately 350 doctors were trained in 10 robotic surgery simulation courses held over the last 3 months.
