Organized for the first time this year by Tüyap Fairs and Exhibitions Organization Inc. in cooperation with the Turkish Publishers Association and with the support of Denizli Metropolitan Municipality, the Tüyap Denizli Book Fair has opened its doors at the EGS Fair Center. The fair can be visited free of charge every day between 10:00 and 20:00 until October 25.
Following Istanbul, Adana, Bursa, Eskişehir and Diyarbakır, Tüyap filled the vacancy left by the Samsun Book Fair with the Denizli Book Fair. The opening ceremony held the previous day was attended by Denizli Governor Yavuz Selim Köşger, Denizli Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Bülent Nuri Çavuşoğlu, Pamukkale University Rector Prof. Dr. Mahmud Güngör, district mayors, protocol members and book lovers.
Tüyap Fairs and Exhibitions Organization Inc. General Manager İlhan Ersözlü stated that the fair, which meets book lovers with 212 participants in its first year, is Turkey's third largest book fair after Istanbul and Adana. Within the scope of the fair, over 500 book-signing ceremonies and nearly 70 talks, children's activities, musical performances and the "My First Book at Tüyap" event will be held, bringing together authors from different generations with their readers.
Additionally, the International Cartoon Competition exhibition, prepared for the sixth time this year by Denizli Metropolitan Municipality with the theme of "football", is presented to the appreciation of visitors. Meanwhile, during the event, the Writers Syndicate of Turkey (TYS) held a press release regarding author Kemal Yalçın's inability to enter Turkey for 10 months.
