Uber has expanded its partnership with OpenAI to make the ChatGPT Work tool available to over 30,000 employees worldwide. Following a pilot implementation previously conducted with a group of one thousand people, this large-scale deployment aims to increase the company's operational efficiency.

One thousand employees from various departments such as finance, operations, and product development took part in the pilot process. The fact that approximately 80 percent of these early users consisted of non-engineering personnel revealed the tool's potential in non-technical business lines. During this process, the company paired 30 AI engineers with various teams for two weeks to test the automation of business processes.

ChatGPT Work operates integrated with daily business tools such as Google Drive, Gmail, Google Calendar, and Slack, supporting multi-step tasks such as data analysis, preparing meeting summaries, and creating presentations. Using GPT-6.1 Sol as the default model, the platform also features multimodal capabilities such as audio and visual content generation. Software development teams will continue to use Codex for coding processes.

To support this technological transformation, Uber created an in-house AI skills library and specialized training programs. While no official statement was made regarding the total cost of the project, it was stated that the company will shape its future AI strategy by monitoring employee usage data and workflow outputs.
