‘We’re done’: Ukraine resumes strikes on Russian oil refineries as anger at Trump mounts

Ukraine has resumed its military attacks on oil refineries in Russia, ending a three-day pause that followed U.S. President Donald Trump's announcement of an energy ceasefire.

Attacks Continue After a Three-Day Pause

Ukraine had paused its attacks for three days following the U.S. energy ceasefire announcement, but stated that Russia continued to attack its own electrical grid.

Due to the violation of the ceasefire by the Kremlin and the depletion of patience, the Ukrainian side began targeting oil facilities in Russia once again.

Reactions Toward the U.S. and Trump Administration

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy harshly expressed that the U.S. dangerously withdrew critical defense support and betrayed Kyiv.

It was emphasized that the U.S. administration increased pressure on Ukraine through deficiencies in intelligence sharing and restrictions on the Starlink internet service.

Starlink and Intelligence Restrictions

It was reported by Ukrainian Chargé d'Affaires Denys Sienik that satellite internet functionality provided via Starshield was temporarily restored to its former speed.

The Ukrainian government has not received any response from SpaceX or the U.S. Department of Defense regarding the reason for the recent restrictions.

Oil Refinery Fire in the Ryazan Region

Hours after Zelenskyy's statements indicating that patience had run out, a fire was reported at an oil refinery located in the western Ryazan region.

The Russian Ministry of Defense officially confirmed that Ukraine had attempted a comprehensive attack on the facility.
