It was noted that figures such as Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner focused on various alternatives, including transferring the assets to a new structure under US supervision.

It was reported that European representatives attending the meeting rejected these proposals presented for the release of frozen Russian assets.
Assessments by Officials
A US official stated that the use of assets was considered within the framework of a comprehensive peace agreement and that mechanisms were being evaluated.

Following the outbreak of the war, the EU and G7 countries froze approximately half of Russia's foreign exchange reserves, and the majority of the assets began to be kept in Euroclear accounts.
