US Central Bank FED to Announce Interest Rate Decision and Market Expectations

The US Central Bank (FED) will announce its interest rate decision tonight at 21:00 Turkey time. In addition to the decision to be made by the US, whose public debt is approaching 40 trillion dollars and which is in conflict with Iran, FED Chairman Kevin Warsh's verbal guidance is also awaited.

Strategist Zafer Ergezen stated that inflation coming in above expectations in the US has increased the probability of interest rate hikes, but due to employment data remaining below expectations, the probability of the Fed passing on interest rates at this meeting is higher. It was stated that the possibilities of a rate hike in the upcoming meeting are being priced in.

Assessment: Ergezen noted that the statements to be made by Fed Chairman Kevin Warsh and his emphasis on inflation are important for the markets, and in the event of a hawkish statement, pullbacks below 4,000 dollars on the gold side and the 6,200 - 6,400 band on gram gold could be tested. It was stated that if the war ends and there is a rapid pullback in oil prices, levels above 4,400 and 4,800 dollars for ounce gold and over 7,000 TRY for gram gold could be seen.
