US Cruise Ship Suspends Asia Voyage Due to Fuel Costs
A US cruise ship launched with the concept of floating homes has stopped its voyage in Cambodia and disembarked its passengers due to fuel costs.
Operating as part of a three-year world tour covering seven continents, the US cruise ship MV Odyssey suspended its voyage at Sihanoukville port in Cambodia due to soaring fuel costs. The ship's operator had offered cabins for sale starting at approximately $230,000 for lifetime use.
Having set sail two years ago toward seven continents with the aim of combining long-term living at sea with global travel, the ship paused its voyage with a decision that led hundreds of passengers to disembark. The starting price for lifetime ownership of suites on the ship was around the $230,000 level.
