US Military Death Toll Rises to 23 in War with Iran
The Pentagon announced that the total death toll has reached 23 following the deaths of two more service members in the war with Iran.
The U.S. Department of Defense (Pentagon) announced that two more service members have lost their lives since the start of the war with Iran, bringing the total number of fatalities to 23.
It was reported that the last two deaths added to the Defense Casualty Analysis System (DCAS) portal of the Department of Defense occurred as a result of non-hostile incidents.
According to DCAS data, 11 service members lost their lives due to hostile fire during the war, while 12 service members lost their lives due to non-hostile conditions such as accidents and illness.
It was stated that both of the newly added deaths belonged to air force personnel; one of them died due to illness and the other due to undetermined causes under ongoing investigation.
These deaths were recorded by the Pentagon under the Overseas Contingency Operations category following Secretary of State Marco Rubio's announcement in May that Operation Epic Fury had concluded.
