US President Trump Warns Iran of New Military Operation
US President Donald Trump has announced that he could launch a new military operation dubbed 'Epic Fury' if a deal with Iran cannot be reached. The Tehran administration responded to this threat by warning that it could target undersea cables in the region.
In a speech at a campaign rally in Florida, US President Donald Trump stated that if Iran does not agree to a deal with Washington, they could launch another 'little Epic Fury' operation. While Trump did not provide details on the terms of the operation, he argued that preventing Iran's nuclear capacity was their primary goal. These statements followed comments by US Ambassador to Turkey Tom Barrack regarding a potential attack by the weekend.
Trump claimed that they had previously destroyed Iran's nuclear enrichment capacity and weakened the country's military and economic power with 'Operation Midnight Hammer'. 'Operation Epic Fury', launched by the US and Israel in February, had triggered the process that resulted in the death of Iran's former supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
Iranian officials stated that the US should not 'play with fire' if it launches a new attack, announcing that they have prepared plans to target undersea communication cables in the Persian Gulf. Tehran warned that in the event of a possible attack, 'red lines' would be removed and all communication infrastructure, including internet connections, could be targeted.
US intelligence has warned that Iran has intensified its plans for attacks against American officials. Following these developments, the US decided to reduce its diplomatic personnel in Saudi Arabia, Lebanon, Jordan, Qatar, and the UAE.
