US Troops to Compete in AI-Powered Mindgame Tournament
US Marines and joint force members will compete against an artificial intelligence opponent in digital wargames featuring drone swarms and aircraft carrier strike groups.
US military personnel will face a strategic opponent managed by artificial intelligence in digital wargames scheduled to take place toward the end of the year.
Details of the Mindgame Tournament
According to a published administrative message, selected US Marines and other joint force members will compete against an AI-controlled opponent toward the end of the year.
This event, named the Mindgame Tournament, will be held online via the Marine Corps University's Wargaming Cloud platform.
Features of the AI Opponent
Developed by Strategy Robot, the artificial intelligence utilizes advanced strategic reasoning techniques instead of following predefined scenarios.
The system continuously evaluates the battlefield, anticipates the opponent's moves, and adapts its strategy accordingly as the game progresses.
Participation Requirements and Schedule
Active and reserve military personnel, government civilian employees, and defense contractors can apply for the tournament through the MCU website.
Applications must be completed by November 14, and the tournament is planned to begin on December 1 and run until April 1, 2027.
