Vincenzo Italiano's European record at Beşiktaş draws attention

Beşiktaş head coach Vincenzo Italiano has displayed a striking performance by achieving 7 victories in 8 matches in European competitions at the helm of the team.

Vincenzo Italiano, who was appointed as the head coach of Beşiktaş on June 6, 2026, has signed off on successful results in Europe at the helm of the team over a 4-month period. Most recently, defeating Hoffenheim 3-2 away in the 2nd week of the UEFA Europa League, the 48-year-old Italian coach secured his 7th victory in his 8th match in Europe. Italiano experienced his only defeat in this process with a 1-0 result against Zalgiris.

The Italian coach, with the 7 victories he achieved in the 8-match period, matched the total number of victories in Europe of Abdullah Avcı, Sergen Yalçın, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, and Giovanni van Bronckhorst, who have served at Beşiktaş in recent times. During the related period, Giovanni van Bronckhorst achieved 3 victories in 7 matches, and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer achieved 3 victories in 8 matches. While Abdullah Avcı took 1 victory in 6 matches, Sergen Yalçın could not secure a victory from the 8 European matches he served in.
