White House Press Secretary Katie Zacharia Dismissed

White House Press Secretary Katie Zacharia was dismissed from her position just five days after starting, following a brief conversation with Vice President JD Vance at the direction of senior advisor Jason Miller during an interview with The Wall Street Journal.
While Katie Zacharia was explaining her plans as the new press secretary to The Wall Street Journal, Jason Miller, a senior advisor to U.S. President Donald Trump, knocked on her office door. Miller asked Zacharia to pause the interview to have a quick chat with Vice President JD Vance. Following this brief conversation, Zacharia was dismissed.
Arriving at work on Friday with the expectation of a normal day, Zacharia participated in a communications team meeting in the Roosevelt Room and was conducting an interview in her West Wing office. During the interview, Trump stated to reporters in the helipad area that he had spoken with Zacharia earlier that day and indicated that, if he were in her position, he would "reevaluate" the job.
Zacharia, whose performance in her first press briefing during her tenure fell flat, faced questions regarding her background and qualifications. Zacharia, who stated she had long been a lawyer, had uncertainty surrounding whether she passed the bar exam in the U.S. or in China where she worked at a major law firm years ago, and The Wall Street Journal later reported she never passed the bar exam. Her trial defenses on Fox News also yielded negative results.
Following these events, the White House denied speculations and announced that Katie Zacharia will continue to serve in the Trump administration in a new role that has not yet been announced.
