Winners of the GATHİB Fabric Design Competition Rewarded

At the final of the 6th Fabric Design Competition held in Gaziantep by the Southeastern Anatolia Textile and Raw Materials Exporters' Association (GATHİB), 9 designers who ranked in the weaving, knitting, and printing categories, as well as the winner of the Sustainability Special Award, were announced.

Sixty outfits prepared from the works of 30 young designers competing in the weaving, knitting, and printing categories were showcased on the runway. In the organization where a total of 2 million 950 thousand TL in awards was distributed, the first place in each category received 400 thousand TL, the second place 300 thousand TL, and the third place 200 thousand TL. Additionally, 250 thousand TL was presented to the designer who won the Sustainability Special Award.

In the Weaving Fabric Design branch, Eyüp Kocabaş came in first, Helin Çiğdem second, and Pınar Haykır third. In Knitting Fabric Design, Melekçe Türkmen achieved first place, Esra Çıtak second, and Emre Baran third; while in the Printed Fabric Design category, Yasemin Dikerel ranked first, Adem Can Cıbır second, and Aslı Arıburnu Metin third. The Sustainability Special Award was given to Helin Çiğdem.

Category winners gained the right to receive education abroad for one year with the approval of the Ministry of Trade. Furthermore, ranked designers will be provided with international promotional support and the opportunity to visit international textile and fashion fairs to be determined by GATHİB. GATHİB Coordinator Chairman Mete Akcan stated that they will continue to bring the ideas of young talents together with the production power of the industry.
