YTU Racing becomes champion in the electric vehicle category at Formula Student Türkiye

Operating within Yıldız Teknik Üniversitesi (YTU), the YTU Racing team reached the championship in the electric vehicle category at the Formula Student Türkiye organization. With their vehicle named YTR11, the team won first place not only in the general classification but also in acceleration, cornering ability, track performance, endurance, and cost-manufacturing categories.

Founded in 2011 and continuing their work in their garage at the Beşiktaş-Yıldız campus, YTU Racing has developed a total of 14 vehicles to date, including 10 internal combustion and 4 electric vehicles. The team is currently continuing work on their 15th vehicle.

Catching attention in the international arena as well, the team won the European championship in 2025 by taking first place in the general classification with its internal combustion vehicle at the Formula Student Czech competition. In 2026, they achieved the title of being the first Turkish team to successfully complete all dynamic stages with YTR11 at Formula Student Austria.

The Formula Student organization allows students to put their engineering knowledge into practice while aiming to prepare young engineers for the automotive industry in areas such as vehicle design, cost analysis, and project management.
