6-year-old Sıla Abu Karim, who was injured in her spine during Israel's attack on a refugee camp in Gaza, was brought to Turkey through the initiatives of the Presidency and the Ministry of Health, and was admitted for treatment at the Adana City Training and Research Hospital.
Sıla, Injured in the Attack, Brought to Turkey
The treatment of Sıla Abu Karim, who was injured by a shrapnel piece while playing games during the attack targeting the Al-Maghazi Refugee Camp in the central part of the Gaza Strip, continues in Turkey.
Brought to the country through the initiatives of the Presidency and the Ministry of Health, the little girl was welcomed by specialist teams at the Adana City Training and Research Hospital.
Health Status and Planned Surgical Process
Brain and Nerve Surgery Specialist Assoc. Prof. Dr. Semih Kıvanç Olguner stated that they are doing their utmost for Sıla to regain her health and that the process is being closely monitored.
It was announced that as a result of the examinations, it was determined that her walking functions are weak, and a plating surgery lasting approximately 3 hours will be applied to the child, followed by physical therapy.
Statements from the Family and the Ministry
Sıla's mother, Nur Khsmıs Ali Banat, stated that only Turkey extended a helping hand to them during this difficult process and thanked President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
Minister of Health Kemal Memişoğlu also stated in a post on his social media account that Sıla was admitted for treatment at the hospital and that the medical processes are being carried out meticulously.
