The quality assurance system implemented by Afyon Kocatepe University for education and training processes has been selected by YÖKAK as one of the 12 best practice examples deemed worthy of an award nationwide.
Important Success at the YÖKAK Conference
The 2026 YÖKAK International Quality Assurance and Accreditation Conference, organized by the Higher Education Quality Board, was held in Istanbul on September 14-15, 2026. As a result of the evaluation involving universities, a total of 12 studies were accepted as best practice examples.
University Representatives Attended the Conference
Afyon Kocatepe University was represented at the conference by Quality Coordinator Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ali Avan, Deputy Quality Coordinator Prof. Dr. Koray Kasapoğlu, and Dr. Faculty Member Umut Kemeç. The university's study was presented by Prof. Dr. Koray Kasapoğlu.
Self-Evaluation Processes Explained
In his presentation, Prof. Dr. Koray Kasapoğlu stated that all programs admitting students at the university have completed the self-evaluation process at least once. It was stated that educational processes were evaluated in line with concrete evidence and determined criteria.
Presentation of Plaque and Certificate of Appreciation
Following the presentation, Prof. Dr. Koray Kasapoğlu and Afyon Kocatepe University were presented with a certificate of appreciation and a plaque for their work. It was officially announced that the model is among the 12 best practices across Turkey.
