In the caption of the post where she shared satellite images on her social media account, Jolie stated, "You can now open Google Earth and see what has been done to Gaza."
Massive Infrastructure Damage
She pointed out that neighborhoods have been turned into rubble, and homes, schools, universities, hospitals, roads, water and sanitation systems, and infrastructure have been destroyed.
She stated that according to United Nations satellite analysis, 82 percent of the infrastructure in Gaza has been damaged as of June 16.
Needs of Millions of People
Jolie emphasized that as winter approaches, 94 percent of Gaza's population, which is approximately 2 million people, will need shelter and basic necessities.
Emphasis on Humanitarian Aid
She stated, "Google Earth reveals the physical destruction with extraordinary clarity. However, it cannot show what it means to live amidst this, what happened to the families who were killed, and what life is like for those who survived."
Underscoring that humanitarian aid must be delivered to Gaza, Jolie stated that the destruction and needs are clearly known.
