History and Operation
Founded in two thousand and five, the system connected companies with workers for small digital tasks such as data labeling, transcription, and survey filling. Amazon founder Jeff Bezos had described this system as artificial artificial intelligence.
Reasons for Closure
Hosting more than five hundred thousand workers during its peak period, the platform experienced a decline due to competition from other data labeling companies and falling usage rates. New customer acceptance had already been stopped in July.
Redirection of Resources
Thanks to this closure move, Amazon will be able to redirect its resources to higher-priority business areas such as AWS's growing artificial intelligence infrastructure.
