Borusan Contemporary opens two different exhibitions for the new season
The exhibitions opening their doors at the Haunted Mansion offer a wide selection ranging from photography to contemporary works based on digital culture and artificial intelligence.
Borusan Contemporary is presenting its two new exhibitions, "Olivo Barbieri: Time Space Geometry" and "Haunted", to art lovers on September 19 for the new season. The exhibitions can be visited until August 15.
Time Space Geometry Exhibition
Curated by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Fırat Arapoğlu, "Time Space Geometry" brings together 5 series from the artist's artistic practice spanning over 40 years. The exhibition also premieres a new photography series produced in 9 ancient cities of Anatolia upon the commission of the Borusan Contemporary Art Collection.
Haunted Exhibition and the Role of Technology
Curated by Dr. Kumru Eren, the "Haunted" exhibition explores how artificial intelligence, algorithms, data technologies, and digital culture transform the contemporary visual world. The selection brings together leading names in new media and technology-based art with the early works of Kemal Önsoy.
Press Conference and Statements
Speaking at the press conference held at the Haunted Mansion, Borusan Group Head of People, Communication, and Sustainability Nursel Ölmez Ateş stated that there is a very serious effort behind this year's exhibitions. Ateş emphasized that alongside Barbieri's exhibition, the main theme of the "Haunted" exhibition selection is artificial intelligence.
Curators' Evaluations
Curator Fırat Arapoğlu stated that the starting point of the exhibition was the question "What do we actually see when we look at a place?", while thanking the 72-year-old Italian photographer Olivo Barbieri for the collaboration. Borusan Contemporary Director Kumru Eren drew attention to the fact that 7 works in the exhibition are meeting audiences for the first time.
