The Politburo's Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW has created significant momentum for the tourism sector to shift from applying isolated technologies to developing a modern, smart, and data-driven digital tourism ecosystem, opening a new strategic direction. Travelers' experiences are no longer limited to the destination itself but now begin with digital maps and virtual tours.
Technological Transformation of Historical Sites in Hanoi
In line with the goal of building a smart city in Hanoi, the iHanoi application and historical sites such as the Temple of Literature and the Hoa Lo Prison are utilizing 3D mapping, smart audio guides, and virtual reality glasses. These models demonstrate how technology can transform familiar values into new and vibrant experiences.
Da Nang and Ho Chi Minh City Projects
Da Nang is piloting solutions such as automated ticketing, smart management, and AI-integrated reception robots to improve service quality. Meanwhile, Ho Chi Minh City aims to build a big data-based digital tourism ecosystem, creating a comprehensive platform by integrating interactive 3D and 360-degree digital maps.
Core Purpose and Approach of Digital Tourism
Experts emphasize that the main purpose of digital tourism is not to produce as much technology as possible, but to ensure that tourists can access information more easily, enjoy immersive experiences, and keep cultural values at the forefront.
