Health Secretary Kennedy Makes Statement on Artificial Intelligence and the Future of Medicine
Department of Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. stated that doctors who do not consult artificial intelligence tools will be considered to have made a medical error.
Speaking at the MAHA summit in Washington, D.C., Department of Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. stated that artificial intelligence will completely transform the medical field and emphasized that doctors must utilize these technologies when consulting patients.
Statements at the Summit
Department of Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. said at the MAHA summit held in Washington, D.C., that Americans should be the managers of their own health.
In his interview with Armstrong Williams, he expressed that the medical world will change fundamentally and that the most important actors in this process are artificial intelligence and expanded access to medical records.
OpenAI Meeting
Kennedy stated that he recently met with OpenAI CEO Sam Altman and that artificial intelligence tools have reached a level to be used in the clinical care process.
He stated that two years ago Sam Altman did not recommend taking medical advice from artificial intelligence, but at the current point, it has become mandatory for doctors to resort to these technologies.
Medical Record Sharing
Stating that the sharing of medical records in the health sector has increased significantly during his tenure, Kennedy noted that patients have easier access to information regarding their own care processes.
He explained that the number of shared medical records, which was under 10 million when he took office, reached billions in a short time and that barriers were removed in this way.
