Technology analyst Dan Ives has officially filed to establish the Ives Ultra AI Opportunities closed-end fund, which will offer investment opportunities in private companies supporting artificial intelligence.
Purpose of the Fund and Target Amount
The Ives Ultra AI Opportunities fund is being established to provide investors with access to private companies behind the artificial intelligence boom. According to Yorkville Ives & Co. data, the fund aims to raise a total of $200 million in gross proceeds by selling 20 million shares of common stock at $10 per share.
Investment Strategy and Asset Allocation
Approximately 80% of the fund's assets will be directed toward artificial intelligence-focused companies, with a particular priority on late-stage private companies in the United States. It is also stated that up to 15% of the portfolio may be invested in private funds.
Stock Exchange Trading and Market Impact
Planned to trade on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker symbol IVAI, this structure is stated to be among the first funds to provide retail investors with access to private artificial intelligence technology companies that have largely been closed off to them.
