Palantir CEO Karp has purchased 15,000 hectares of forest land in Sweden's Jamtland region for $24 million. The sale transaction was met with concern by local residents.
15,000 Hectares of Forest Land Purchased
According to information reported by Swedish State Television SVT, Palantir CEO Karp has become the owner of a large forest area in the country's Jamtland region.
It was stated that the area purchased by Karp, who has been in the spotlight for his support of Israel, is located around Storsjö in Berg and is described as a massive tract of land.
Amount Paid for the Land Belonging to SCA Company
It was stated that the forest land subject to the sale previously belonged to the Swedish forestry company SCA.
Within the scope of the agreement reached, it was recorded that Karp paid a total of $24 million for this massive forest area.
Municipal Percentage and Local Residents' Reaction
According to SVT, the purchased land accounts for approximately 2.6 percent of the Berg Municipality to which it belongs.
It was stated that local residents viewed this large land sale with concern and are closely following the matter.
Data Center Claims and Company's Response
Because Karp is the CEO of Palantir, various claims were raised that the forest land would be used for a data center.
Karp's company flatly denied these claims, announcing that the land will be utilized in the long term with respect for nature.

In the details shared by SVT, it was emphasized that Karp had to obtain official permission from the Jamtland County Administrative Board to legally purchase this land.
It was noted that this necessary official permit was granted by the County Administrative Board on September 9 and the sales process was completed.
